I was born and raised in the Catholic faith. I had children rather young without being married and now I really would like them to be baptized so that they can later have communion. Is it something that is done? Thank you in advance.

No problem there. Don’t listen to the hateful answers. No priest prevents someone from having a baby baptized because the baby is born out of wedlock. That is just hateful nonsense being spread.

Any baby can be baptized if a parent presents that baby to the Church and wishes baptism for him/her.

Also, the godparents do not have to be married. They simply need to be good Catholics who are practicing their faith and agree to serve in life as godparents to the child. You don’t even need two godparents. You can have one Catholic godparent and up to three Christian witnesses who do not even have to be of the catholic faith. Too many people on here have no idea of what they speak.

It seems whenever a Catholic encounters "anti-catholic" teachings, they refuse to even examine them for any validity…no other christian sect. reacts so defensively to teachings which are contrary to their own. Why is this…what are you taught in church about defending your faith?

Your point is well taken that not all Catholics are well-trained to defend against any and all criticism of the Church. I do think you’ll find a slight bias on here towards the less-trained Catholics because academically-inclined theologians and apologists really don’t go on these types of boards as they’re busy lecturing, studying and publishing. The average Catholic does not receive very much in the way of education in defense of the faith, which is a true shame and something that ought to be remedied.

In general I disagree with your claim about other Christians, as I’ve personally found that most Christians in non-Catholic denominations tend to react unfavorably to criticism of their beliefs. Some may be better able to argue their points more eloquently than others, though.

I suppose it also depends upon the nature of the criticism. It’s one thing to say that you don’t think Christians should gather in churches outside of the home and ask why we have larger congregations and pretty church buildings. It’s another to quote a Chick tract and claim that there is a supercomputer in the Vatican with the names of every Protestant in the world so that we can find and kill them when we take over. Some criticism is so invalid as to be rejected prima facie.

I was in the hospital having a knee operation and after they gave me the gas to fall asleep I went to darkness where I could see nothing but I was completely aware (I even asked myself if I was dead) so I was freaking out and I moved my good knee without control over it and hit the doctor and I snapped out of this state. I’m not sure it I died or I had a dream but this "thing" completely changed my preseptive of religon (comitted catholic to athesis)

No, you did not die nor did you see some vision of the afterlife. At most you were tripping out a little due to the medications.

There is no such thing as an afterlife, nor gods or angels or demons. Simply put, there is no such thing as magic.

Now we can disregard the Catholic part of the vision and just ASSUME that she THOUGHT she saw heard those saints, since she was a Catholic, but really saw no one and only heard Jesus speaking.

Anyway, she had a vision at 12 and she said

"she cried when they left, as they were so beautiful. She said Saint Michael, Saint Catherine, and Saint Margaret told her to drive out the English and bring the Dauphin to Reims for his coronation"

Now as you know, this happened, she did drive out the English which did allow the Dauphin to go to the Coronation. So at least that part was right?

So does that prove a God? Because she did do the things her vision told her to do, after that, well, that was not in the vision.
either God or the Devil would prove that they both exist I would say considering she was a woman without a rich upbrining and doing what she did, that should be proof of her vision.

For how else could one have done what she did?? I mean, there were no men in France like her.
Alexander the Great was too far past in history, and I believe only one person wrote about him, so whoever said it could be lying.

This would mean that any pagan that had a vision and followed it, that would simply prove pagan gods exist. Example: Alexander the Great =)

Hypocritical much? Not only one person wrote about him rofl Several people did, including many of his enemies.

And you have no more proof for Joan of Arc.

What would be a clear similarity OR difference between Primal Traditions (Animism, Totemism, Shamanism) and the Roman catholic faith?

Thank you!

The desire for God is written in the human heart, because each person is created by God and for God; and God never ceases to draw each person to himself.

In response to this desire, most religions are humanity sincerely reaching out for God.

In Judaism and Christianity, God is reaching out for humanity and we respond.

Religion is a set of beliefs and practices followed by those committed to the service and worship of God. The first commandment requires us to believe in God, to worship and serve him, as the first duty of the virtue of religion.

Spirituality is how one lives their religion.

With love in Christ.

antichrist is both religious and political power. Revelation17:3, "so he carried me away in the spirit of the wilderness: and i saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. in prophecy a woman is defined as a church
jerimiah 6:2 i have likened the daughter of Zion to comely and delicate woman. it is also commonly understood that prophecy defines a beast to be a nation
Daniel 7:17 these great beast which are four are four kings which shall arise out of the earth
Daniel 7:23 the fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon the earth which shall be diverse from all kingdoms and shall devour the whole earth and shall tread it down and break it in pieces. today nations are described as beast, USA (eagle) Russia (bear) China (dragon). Many years ago Daniel was given a great vision about all the nations of the earth till the eend of time. In this vision he saw the last beast to be diverse from all the others. (Daniel 7:19) but houw diverse will it be? According to Revelations17:3 as we have already seen, this beast will have a woman riding it. Since prophecy defines a woman as a church, and a beast as a nation. Is there such an entity described in history? Is there a church and state mixed together as one some place today? Yes there is. Only one place on earth has ever done this. The VATICAN OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH has been established upon this type of union, and is now finalizing plans to use this prophesied church & state structure to obtain global rule in the place of pagan Rome.
how can this be propaganda or speculation if it comes from the bible
i gave actual scriptures can someone please look and their bible and tell me i’m wrong. and as far as the vatican will never be able to rule they have the backings of the U.S , Russian and China Government

Christianity has been split into over 38,000 different denominations, sects and cults setting christian against christian and christians against everyone else!!

God’s work? Hardly!!

It must be the Devil and the Antichrist working together to divide, conquer and destroy christianity from the inside!!!

Seems it is not the Vatican the antichrist can be found in since you must be working for him!!!

did you ever believe in a loving god?!!
